Is this structural?
Guess I'll try asking this here since the mods decided removing it or modifying it doesn't belong in the fabrication section....
Can anyone tell me if this part is structural or not in relation to the uni body? Sorry for the crayon arrows and such... Its the metal riser that hides the jack and holds up the rear seat butt cushion.
And if this doesn't belong here either mods... please let me know where I should put a question pertaining to removing a part that's welded to the Jeep! Thanks.

Cool to know, thanks Dan! And that's not my floor.. I borrowed the pic. *blush* Couldn't find one of mine that showed that part. Heehee! Do you remember if its hard to get out or just a handful of spot welds and some hammer time?

It boxes in the area between tranny tunnel and "framerails", then to the doorsills, looks kind of structural to me. Everybit of unibody you cutout will reduce the structural rigidity of the Jeep. Will you notice anything by cutting it out...probably not while mallcrawling.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll likely play around with different ideas on the "beater" 91. If I can find a way to remove it and then build new braces in a better location (for me) I may try it on the nicer 01. Just seems like pure wasted space since I never carry extra people and God knows the factory jack isn't worth spit! haha!

And, the fab section in particular, has had so much trouble it was almost removed.

I figured it was something like that. Lord knows the MODS job is an unthankful one. Didn't mean to add to the hassle or fuss. I just figured since it was modifying the vehicle it fell there. The mistake was mine due to not knowing where to really put it. I did read the fabrication def and rules posting but still kinda felt like it was supposed to go there. No biggie... Thanks for doing the MODjob and sorry to have screwed up.
