Strange Idle Renix - Low cold/high warm
***could a mod please move this to the stock xj forum.
I am having some idle issues with my 87 Cherokee Chief. First off what is the stock idle supposed to be?
When cold the Jeep idles at about 750rpm when cold it has a bit of a hesitation and when the idle comes down after hitting the throttle it dips well below 300rpm, never dies just really really low and wants to stall I would say.
When warm it idles smoothly but at 1100rpm, no hesitation or dips when hitting the throttle, other than being higher than I would think is normal it runs fine.
Any suggestions? I have searched and everyone has some problems with similar symptoms but not quite the same. I have cleaned the throttle body, adjusted the tps, cleaned the IAC, refreshed the grounds. Do need to get rid of the silly C101 connection but that's a lot of soldering! haha.

Also, if you haven't already done so, you should do Cruiser's Renix tips:
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cr...x-tips-153657/
They are just a great general maintenance for your renix.
But I agree, I would check your manifold bolts, sounds like they may be expanding when hot and allowing air in as they are not tight enough. Tighten them starting in the center working your way out to the sides top and bottom of the manifolds.

Cleaned throttle body and adjust TPS. Did most of cruisers tips minus the ECU connection and the C101.
Oops I did not mean the IAC, I already cleaned that. I meant the IAT. Will check the manifold though.
