Stock wheels. 31's. No trimming. Should I go 2" or 3" lift?
Hi all, Hoping someone with some experience can provide some assistance.
I have a '91 XJ that is in great shape. Almost time capsule status. My plan is to do sort of an OEM+ build and keep this one nice as possible since they are getting harder to find.
What I'd like to do is install the lowest lift possible, that can fit 31's and requires no trimming. Since backspacing matters, I am planning to use the standard Cherokee 5-spokes.
My two lift options are the OME 2" & 3". Is it possible the 2" lift would work or should I go with the 3"
Thanks for your help.
ETA: Also considering 245/75/15

When I was at 3" with 31's if flexed mine rubbed with sway bar disconnected in front and rear, no bumpstops.
But with the proper wheel (15x8 with 3.75-4" of BS) a 31x10:50 at 3" is fine just use BS's all around and even the factory flares work fine. But the wheels must be out further to not rub the frame on tight turns. Steel wheels are cheap $40 up for them.
I find it hard to believe that 31x10:50's fit fine with zero lift and stock wheels has to be bump stopped to the hilt and rub the frame.

I agree, I have 30x9.5x15 on the Dorman leafs, so maybe 1' lift on rear and the JKS ACOS on the front which is almost 2" and I rub the front trim on the front tires when I turn and back up.

There are more options in a 235/755r15. That's a 29 inch tire. My setup on one jeep is a 2 inch with 235s and looks good to me.

i have 3.5" lift, with a 265/75-16 they are probably a hair taller then a normal 31 on stock wheels no spacers and have no issues.

You have stock control arms? When I had a 3 inch on stock wheels I rubbed the lcas but once I got adjustable ones, I cleared. Idk if that's normal but that's what happened in my case haha

RE non adjustable lower arms.. i adjusted the turning stops maybe a turn and the tires no longer hit. don't really notice any less turning radius either even though i'm sure its a hair less..
