Stock gears and 34's with a 5 speed?
how bad is it going to be with 34s on stock gears? Its a 5 speed with the 4.0 ho? 1994 xj 2 door 5 speed, stock gears, lifted 4.5 in, trimmed, 34x12.50x15 4 in bs crager soft 8's,

also something to take into consideration is altitude, driving style, and terrain (freeway/city ect) 33's where manageable but didn't have the freeway passing power or acceleration from a stop i like, to further explain my opinion. but only one way to find out if you will like it or not...

yeah with mine we have hills (6% grade for 14 miles on end)
and lots of flat freeway.
I have the acceleration (heck I can spin my swampers) and the passing power on the freeway.
but you are right, engine status means alot and terrain

Not to thread jack but I have heard of guys with auto transmission driving in third when they had bigger tires, supposedly it helped a lot. I am curious if any of u gets have tried that?

whatcha can do is pick up a pair or axles from an automatic for some what chea since theyre gunna be stock and since theyd had the 355 gears itd help and then just sell your axles stock and get money back or have that set to build. a friend of mine did that and had no problem that i rememeber and 355s would prob be nice because i have the 5 spd and 456 gears with 33s and its a nice crawl but so slow on the road. hope i helped

^^^^ I bought a beater for 300 bucks yanked the difs front and rear then took it to the scrap yard and got 219 bones back so I paid 81 dollars for my swap epic win and was a pretty noticable difrence

Yes thank all of u for the help, I think I will b alrighb for a while while I look around for some since it's not my dd, is there any other vehicles that I could look out for jus to ****** the gears or do I need to do a complete axle swap ?? Sorry I am clueless bout this
