Stock drag link/tie rod fine with a 4.5 lift?
Hey guys,
I'm going up from 3 inches to 4.5 and just bought adjustable control arms and a larger drop pitman to go along with it. I already have an RC adjustable track bar from before.
Would a stock tie rod and drag link be jeopardized with 4.5 inches of lift? Or can I wait to shell out more money at a later time
If they need to be replaced at this height, any recommendations on a tie rod (with ends)/drag link package that's good bang for the buck?
Thanks

I read a few previous posts and some people mentioned a stock drag link with a V8 ZJ tie rod is a nice upgrade for cheap, even on larger lifts. If anyone can confirm this before I purchase, that would be great. Thank you.

Here is another option:

The IRO tie rod is what I went with, you can order it with tie rods ends as well. Pretty beefy.

Hey matrix, a lot of people go with the V8 ZJ tie rod mod. If your XJ is wearing 31,32,33 inch tires. It will work out very well. I also recommend to replace both tie rod ends if they are worn out.

Here's another similar option I'm considering: http://www.stinkyfab.com/steering-co...t-tie-rod.html
The demonstration videos are impressive.

It’s a pretty simple part that seems hard to screw up. I think most of the aftermarket solutions will be just fine from a quality standpoint. I guess it comes down to what companies are the best to deal with.
