steering stabilizer questions
I am in need of a steering stabilzer for my xj and noticed a crazy price difference in the price of fox stabilizers for the xj and the jk. I wanted to know if that price difference is due to the stabilizer being built solely for stock xj steering. I have a cavfab steering kit so i was curious if i could just get the fox jk stabilizer and use that. Thanks in advance.

Best thing to do for a stabilizer is to get a stock one if you want one at all. They're not required and if anything only help the pressure on the joints (TREs or Heims). Cavfab steering doesn't require one as long as your geometry is setup correctly. Fox stabilizers are waste of money. Dual stabilizers are a joke

I currently get a ton of road feedback to the steering wheel and having some bump steer issues was hoping a stabilizer would help a little with that. Mostly wanted fox because all the shocks on my jeep currently are fox

I was told by my local Jeep shop that Fox has the best steering shock out there. I am pretty sure they meant stiffest. As others said, steering shocks don't do much but it will help dampen the steering feedback. I went with a matching steering shock just to match all my others but in the end, I know it does the exact same thing a dirt cheap one will do. Just know you will be putting it on there for looks and not a whole lot more.

I'm sure the differences are down to the length and mounting. I don't know if JKs use a stud mount to the drag link like a stock setup would, having the crossover steering it should be fine since you can slide the mount up and down the tube.

That's probably true due to the nitrogen port; you can put in just the right amount for your particular setup so that the feedback isn't too light or too harsh.

Steering stabilizer
I have a 98 Cherokee 4x4 stock. Replaced the steering stabilizer and the wobbles I was getting went away. This was over a year ago. Wobbles are returning and the steering stabilizer is going out again. What other parts can be checked and replaced to keep the stabilizer from doing all the work?

I have been guilty of this myself on a '96 XJ I used to own.
Hey worked but.....
Need check the whole front end but I usually think track bar and steering stabilizer when I hear the words death wobble.

I posted to incorrect thread ..my only advice for it is knowing the required compressed, and extended lengths of the stabilizer to pick the correct part, along with bolt hole size and bushing thickness if necessary. Since I'm unfamiliar with the aftermarket steering I can't advise a part, but the stock length RC stabilizer was fairly inexpensive
