Steering Angle Opinion
Hey guys- Im having a little problem with my steering. Was not as noticible till I got the Stroker in. When I let off the throttle and the front comes down, I have terrible bump steer. So I need opinions
This is how it is currently:
This is if I move it down an inch via the hole on the IRO Truss
My question is this. Obviously moving it down will make it more parallel. But being as the Currie Steering is ment for 4", (Im at 6.5) would it make more sense to get a small drop pitman arm instead to correct the angle? Maybe give the y a little more room to operate? I think I can correct the bump steer by lowering it- just thinking about long term/flexing etc. I will probably do the WJ swap down the road but no funds left for now

you can't correct Y link. nothing is going to help noticeably enough. just leave it alone and try to deal with it until the time comes for WJ stuff. what is your caster set at?

I can pull the bolt- extend the trackbar- and lower it to the second pic in about 10 min making it more parallel. I am leaning towards just doing that like you said and not spending the cash on a pitman arm. Not sure on the angle of castor (ill go find it) but I have the IRO adjuster so it is easy to change.

I cant find the specs from my last alignment and Im sure it has changed with the truss and all- I have an appointment tomorrow for that (also probably contributing a tiny bit but cant be much as the steering did not change) and will check castor. Was right around 6 degrees

Well adjusting the tracbar an inch down and extending it a tiny bit made a huge difference! Still wanders a bit but nothing like it used too.. Lol so easy too. I'm going to tighten the adjustment on the steering box and see if the alignment helps out.
So Atmos (or others) you don't think a drop Pittman arm ( getting it back where currie designed it to run) will make any difference huh? I can get an appropriate one via Fat Bob for like 30 bucks. If it helps a bit, might be worth it to me just because the WJ conversion is a few ticks back on my to-do list. (And another 800$ my wife won't like lol)
