Either get them reamed or drill them out and use a bushing.

My ruff stuff heims are great and a couple of years old. You'll need to get some weld in bushings.

Totally different steering design.
Not legal in all states.
Try to find a heim joint at a parts house when your rig is broke down on a trail....on a Sunday afternoon.

I've wheeled/DD'd a heim steering setup before, didn't like buying heims on a fairly regular basis.

I have seen other kits that are similar that require you to taper the hole in the knuckle. This one says it comes with inserts. You just slide them in and install the TRE? It says standard 1 ton Chevy. 1 ton chevys all use the same ones?

You drill a hole and slide in the insert, I'd suggest welding them as well.
Yes Chevy one ton tie rods are all the same size and can be had at any parts store but if you want to run OTK you have to get the combo one that goes on the passenger side knuckle elsewhere like JCR or Completeoffroad. They get them untapered and can make the for under or over. Parts store will be under.

NO!!

DO NOT weld in the tapered inserts from my kit. They are split and need to be able to move. Apply too much heat and you'll weaken the steering knuckle and you'll need to run a reamer thru a welded-in insert to remove any deformation.

I got serious! And love it! Drill the knuckles and pitman arm to 7/8. Install Inserts. Bolt on and go.
