Default spartan locker 27spline 8.25?

I know there are plenty of lunchbox threads on here, but this one is kind of specific. I've never really been a fan of lunchbox's in the rear, but I am regearing to 4.88 in the next couple months, it has to be done, but I will not have enough money by that time for a full locker. We ran a lock rite in our tj d35 for about 5 trips before the locker(not the d35) exploded. And I have heard quite a few badthings about the aussie for the 8.25. So my question to anyone who has an 27spline 8.25 spartan. How much abuse can they handle. I will be running 35's and 4.88 gears, it will be getting wheeled pretty hard.

I have an Aussie in my 8.25, works flawlessly. I haven't heard any bad things about them, but maybe I missed those threads. I'm running 35's and it's completely covered under warranty for two years, unlike the spartan which limits tire size.

If it where me I'd go with the one with the warranty, especially if your going to wheel it hard, but that's just me.

Yeah, I have an aussie in front, and I love it. But I have heard quite a few times on here about people breaking them, and aussie saying that it was the owners problem

Interesting, I built it all to tolerance and write down everything, they better not try that if I have an issue.

I'd never heard anything bad about the Aussie, but that's not to say they don't have issues.

All of this talk about aussie is irrelevent, because I don't think they make one for the 27 spline, just the 29

Well it would appear that they no longer make it. I found writeups and everything for the 27 spline but they no longer list it on their website.

Also what is the likelyhood of snapping a 8.25 27 spline with 35's because this rig has to be super reliable, I need to be able to drive it up to 3 hours to the trails and make it home. If I have a pretty good chance of breaking it, I'll just find a limited slip

I think you might be asking questions only you can ansewer. I wheel in the mountains on 27 spline with a lock rite. I run 34 inch swamper LTB. Your driving style has alot to do with breaking axles. I am real easy on the throttle and have not had any problems with the 27 spline axle or the lock rite.
