Default spare tire carrier

Buddy of mine has a spare tire carrier on his jeep can I put it on my 2 Dr it didn't have the hoLes like his does. for it but I have the rear bumper and all the hardware to put it on.

Yea im waiting on putting armor on going make it myself but im going to pull his apart and see what all intales . And how big of a tire can that hold im looking at going to 35s and like to use it or turn it into jerrycan / tool mount

you may have to do a lot of beefing up to the carrier and/or mounting points. 35's are heavy.

The factory tire carrier is good up to a 235/75R15 or a 31". Anything else is gonna break it pretty badly lol. If you wanna run 35s it's time to look at bumpers.

You the.k even with qaurter armor like jcr wouldn't even help need it up cause im kinda thinking it would be to heavy

Yeah even if you reinforce the quarter panel, it will smash the window out, break the hinges, and snap the mount on the bumper lol. Possibly also just outright bend the arm. it's really not build for more than stock weight.

So I look at the spare tire carrier and I think im going to rebuild the frame beef it up and make it solid its hollow plus I could make it a little bigger to acomidate a gas can im going to give it hell and try it
