Default So.... I think I have my final decision on a kit... opinions please

Ok, so doing alot of research, and what i want to do wasnt directly available from RC, so I have to piece together a kit to my liking.. heres what I have come to, I would like opinions as well as anything I may have left out.

From RC

3" lift kit

included is 3" full springs
nitro 9000 shocks
3" coils

then add

fixed sway bar links
fixed lower control arm
adjustable shackle
brake line relocation brackets
U-Bolts
Shock Boots

all for about $675 with ship

From Iron Rock

Adjustable track bar
TC drop kit

This is 170 plus ship

Ebay

1" spacers $20

Totaling around $900 probably with shipping.

this is a stretch from what I can get the 4.5X kit for, which is about 800 with shipping.

is it this much more beneficial for me to go this route piecing together, using a spacer up front, than it would be to get the 4.5 x kit? I just really want to have good flexing in the rear and i have read that the 4.5 full leafs do not work near as well as going 3" with shackles.

i would remove the rear sway bar completely and get sway bar disconnects in the front. also look into brake lines for a YJ. they are extended for the XJ instead of relocating them

Well I have the rc 4.5 inch leafs and they have no issues flexing. From what it sounds like you want to do I'd just get the 4.5 kit as it will handle everything you want to do.

i saw that, but i thought i remember seeing not so good things about rustys stuff, i heard the track bar is not the greatest, and it has a drop bracket instead of longer sway links.

i also heard about RC's trackbar breaking as well, which is why i was going to go with IRO's.

How is Rustys stuff?

Lots of people have mixed thoughts on Rustys stuff mainly everyone complains about customer service issues. I've bought a few parts from them the only issue I've had was shipping prices and a steering box brace that didn't line up.

I've heard a few bad remarks on forums about Rusty's also. Mostly about customer service, but some about quality.

I've been using Rusty's products for 10 years. I've been satisfied with the customer service.

The only Rusty's product I've ever broken was a leaf spring. Zac, Rusty's son had no problem warenteeing it, and I had a replacement in a little more than a week. The spring was over 1 year old. Zac uses the springs on his YJ and was surprized it broke.

My XJ is a daily driver, But I wheel the snot out of it! I can afford to because I'm an Auto Tech and do my own repairs.

Rusty's parts I have:
Front Reciever(use to run a 6k winch from it)both
Steering Box Brace both
Coil Spring Spacers
Upper Control Arms both (I wish I got thier lowers because the RockKrawler's I have, poly bushings wear out Quick and the sphiriacal joints don't lube easy)
I will get Rusty's Lower Control Arms w/rubber bushings
Engine Skid both (After heavy rock trips I've had to pull the skid and straiten it in a press)
Tcase Skid both
Cross Member both
Rock Rails
Roll Bar both
Rear U bolt Yolk
Rear Shackles both
Rear Leafs
HD Spring leaf mounts
HD spring plates
Grade 8U bolts
Steering Stabilizer both
Rear Shocks both

Check out Daily Driver Jeep Club on fb. There's picks of the 2 XJ's (R.I.P. Old Grey) I've built with these parts. Most of them have been on both XJ's.

he doesn't NEED shackle relocation brackets by any means (although i have them and love them).

OP you don't really need brake line brackets (you can just move your existing ones down extremely easily).

Other than that looks like you've done your research. Well done. 3" leafs and shackles will definitely flex better than 4.5" leafs.

Don't forget about degree shims for the rear axle.
