Default Skid plate for 242, will the 231 fit?

I've been looking at the JCR skid plate, I want a full width one, what is the difference between the two for the 231 and 242? I have the 242 case, but it doesn't hang below the crossmember at all, and from the pics I've seen the jcr plate sits along the bottom of the crossmember, and I'm not planning on going so high where I'll need a case drop, maybe 2" lift at the most.

Could I use the 231 plate, and where you drill the sides of the frame, do it at the bottom of the long holes in the plate so it'll have a little drop down adjustment?

Does anyone have an actual picture of the 242 jcr plate on their xj? I've searched the internet high and low can't find anything. Every pic I've found it looks EXACTLY like the 231 plate, and all appear to be stock photos. I found a pic of one on a grand cherokee and it has a little welded over cutout where the xfer case hangs to give it a little clearance. Just want to see if it's like that or just a smooth plate that has deeper bends. Trying to find a plate that's gonna take the least ground clearance for the 242.

Don't think it'll clear in it's stock orientation. I asked a long time ago as well. Take a gamble, at worse call them up and say you accidentally ordered the wrong one

I was looking at another 94 the other day, and it has the 231 case. Hell it looked like that one hung lower than my 242.

I looked at Rusty's and skid rows. I like the jcr because it covers frame to frame. And it's not "universal" so to speak.

The new design Rusty's skid isn't universal and much better than Skidrow. Covers 2/3s of the underside.

wouldn't mind getting one of those for mine too.
I'll post a pic when I can get a good one of it... but looking for an ID on the engine skid plate that's on mine from the PO... I took it off last week when doing my tie-rod ends.. And with the reinforced bracing inside of it and how thick the plate is.. it seems like it could be custom but don't know. I can say it weighs a good 30 lbs. I bet I could hit a manhole cover and not even put a dent in the thing. I love it covering part of my front end linkage.

Only issue with front skids are they're pretty much worthless after 3"s of lift.
