Simplest Lift?
Sorry for the newbie question, Jeeps are a new world for me.
But what are some simple lift options? I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport 4x4. I am toying with lifting her. I do not want to spend more than $500, and spend more than a couple of hours doing so.
So if you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Also it needs to be reliable and I don't want a dramatic lift, just 2-3 inches.

Guess I should have said where I got mine. Rocky Road outfitters. Quality seems great... Plan to run 31" tires. It all depends on if you are looking for function or looks.

if you want the cheapest just do a 2" budget boost all they consist of is coil spacers and shackles or sometimes AALs but you generally want to stay away from them (they sag) and youll be able to fit 31s fine

If he does anything off-road, he will rub like crazy with 31's.

If you want to lift your jeep do it the first time around so you dont have to go back and do it all over agian later...Blocks do not increase flex WHATSOEVER, they just make you ride higher and they make ride quality drop other then getting some new 3 inch coils/leaf packs and shocks. Your better off just getting a full lift and doing it the right way and not having to do it over agian later.

I did a two inch on mine, spacers and shackles, and I run 31's and I love the way my jeep feels. The 31's are a bit big and I trimmed my fenders and rolled my rear wheel wells but it does work and rides great. I would sudgest goin 3 inches for 31's tho.
oh and a few hours is out of the question. any lift will take you a day or two IMHO.

bolts sieze, strip, break, and things rarely go as planned when working on older vehicles. granted it's a 2k, but that's still 11 years old. when i replaced my rear leafs, just to remove the front 2 bolts connecting the leafs to the body took me 1 can of pb blaster, a full night of soaking, then about 1hr/bolt with a 1" socket and a 2ft cheater bar (sheared a 3/4" socket first before moving to the 1".......that was me being an idiot , and mine is a 99!
I would say just plan it to take the weekend if this is your first lift, and if you finish early, then great, but it could take you some time. the most important thing is to take it slow, think things out, and be safe. rushing can lead to negligence and possibly accidents
