shim question.
 
if a have a 4.5" lift, whats the proper shims that are used with it? i have an 01 xj.

DO you have an sye?

You need to measure to find out the right degree shims you need.

I have 4.5 inches of lift and i have 6 degree shims, and a sye regulates the angle at the driveshaft/transfer case angle, shims regulate the angle at the diff

no, havent had the money to get one yet.

There is no proper shim. It varies from car to car depending on suspension and SyE. I only used 2 degrees on a 5" lift and it seems to work.

Keep in mind that using longer shackles tilts the axle pinion upwards, reducing the necessary shim...
