how, what and where do i measure to see what degree of shim do i need?

Measure the driveshaft and and the yoke angle. Then get shims to get the yoke to match the driveshaft.

Not match but you measure the angles and get a shim that get you in the ball park

Yep, that's the best option.

You'll want your pinion to point directly at the t-case output.

That would be pretty much inline with the DS correct? I just got my SYE installed and will hopefully be picking up the correct DS today, then i have to worry about the pinion angle.

its 4, I have the same year jeep, and lify 4 is it + SYE and Driveshaft of course.
