Shackle angle and lifts, can i avoid sye
Hello, I know this is yet another thread about lifts, but I need some advice in regards to my specific predicament.
I installed 3.5 leafs and did a bb in the front with xj v8 coils and spacers (which only netted me 2 3/4). I'm going to order full coils for the front to even it out but I'm trying to decide if I should bring the rear up to 4 or not.
Despite my research I failed to consider adjusting the shackle angle before install and I now realize they desperately need to be corrected. Im looking at the relocation brackets, but I'm worried that the extra half inch will put me above four and caused the need for an sye, etc. if I brought it to four, would a tcd be sufficient? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

What does your current shackle angle look like? We have our Low Pro Shackle Relocation Kit which wont add any lift since it sounds like you dont want that extra lift.
If you do decide you want the extra lift then we have that covered for you too with our standard relocation brackets.
The point where you NEED an SYE changes from vehicle to vehicle. So you wont know for sure until you install the setup and drive it. You might get lucky and be able to get rid of any vibes by installing a drop kit and adjusting your pinion angle accordingly.
Personally, I really would SUGGEST spending the 170 on one once you get to 3".
I hope this helps,

My angle is almost 90, so I'm feelin everything. I suppose I could just keep it 3.5 and go higher when I buy another full lift kit. Doe the adjustable one allow for ~1/2 in of lift possibly?

Adjustable what? Both relocation kits can give you adjustability of your shackle angle.
This is what I would do. I noticed you are running stock shackles. I would purchase the low pro kit that doesnt add lift, then a 1" longer shackle. This might net 1/4" to 1/2" of lift and definitely increase your ride.

RC leafs ? Another thing older xjs take a lot more lift b4 requiring sye than newer ones shackle angle must be better to get rid of buck board ride.

That sounds like a good idea. That would leave me between 3.5-4 in than use spacers in front to match.
And that's good to know hopefully then it won't affect me to bad and worst case I get a tcd temporarily. Thanks for all the input
