seized upper shackle bolts
Need to go in to work and get my new rear shackles on this morning. Tried a couple weeks ago and I can get the upper bolt 90% out but as soon as the threading hits the bushings they just bind up. They'll spin and spin and spin but won't back out at all. I've tried cutting the bolts (I bought replacements) with a sawzall but it just tore up some nice Milwaukee blades without going anywhere.
I figured I'd cut the shackles off with a grinder and take our oxy/acetylene torch to the bushings, but I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. I don't like using a torch in the first place and I really don't want to use one right next to my gas tank if I can avoid it. Especially since I'd sprayed the bolts down with atf/acetone to get them loose in the first place.
I've been googling this problem trying to find another way but it seems like this is about the only option. Figured someone might have done it some other way. Might as well ask first.

Yes, and I had when I attempted it before. I got it without torching it today though. I just took an air hammer to the shackle welds and the bushings fell apart from getting hit with the hammer. Took me maybe 15-20 min total to do the rear.
