Sealed Beam Conversion
Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I'm looking to get some better light output, my sealed beams just aren't doing it for me and I'd like to be able to see the deer on the way home from work before it's too late! I'm not looking to get anything too expensive, I have to pay tuition! Thanks!

The putco harness and a set for h4 lens and bulbs is one of the best mods you will do. imo. I used the rampage lens and love them. Only thing I wish is I did this mods about 3 years earlier.

I got some off of ebay, and put the best bulbs available in them. It works great! http://goo.gl/HWGk5M
For god's sake, don't buy the black ones!

My Autopal E codes and putco harness have been great for the past 2 years. I am going that route on my Yj soon also. But I have a buddy who may do a LED retrofit for my Jeeps depending on how his turn out.

If you go with the putco harness, please upgrade the relays with some not made in taiwan or china. Do some research on the subject, other sites and forums included. No one likes to black out on the highway or be around someone that does.

- Quality H4 bowls (I've used both the Hella Vision Plus - DoT-compliant - and E-codes with good results.)
- Quality H4 bulb, whatever power (Super Whites for general purpose, Yellow Star for rain/snow/mist/fog/dusty conditions.)
A quality H4 bowl will be made with a cut/ground glass lense (instead of a moulded one) and a metal reflector bowl (polished CRES or polished aluminized CRES.) A quality bulb will give good service life (unless you go with exotic high power,) consistent colour over service life (for white or yellow. Don't get those "bloo" things...) and you'll get your money's worth out of them (which is why I prefer Hella bulbs. PIAA and Cibie can both cost more, but I don't see the benefit to using them over the Hellas.)
Note that the improvement in light output and beam shape will warrant readjusting your headlamps, but that's a good thing. Also, if you go with a significantly higher output (more than, say, 60W/80W,) modify the aiming points - I have detailed this elsewhere (for my E-codes with the 90W/130W Super White bulbs.)
I recommend Susquehanna Motorsports (www.rallylights.com) for a vendor, they've been good to me.
