Safe to drill through floor?

Just got a cargo rack for the rear, and I've been looking around the internet for an hour now- is it safe to drill holes in the cargo area to mount this thing? I'm just worried about hitting the gas tank...

i have done this to my 95 the safest thingt to do is take the gas tank off and do it that way then mount gas tank over that

AWAYS look on the other side of a floor, frame rail, whatever before drilling a hole on a vehicle. People have been injured very bad for not doing so.

Run your gas tank down low. Block under the tank to support it. Undo your straps and drop your tank down, drop it down a couple inches. should be able to drop it that far without undoing your fill hose. Else you will for sure drill into the tank when drilling thru the cargo floor. Put a wad of tape around your drill bit so only 1/2" or less will go thru the floor, that will be plenty as the floor is only about 1/32" thick, carpet and backing is the biggest obsatacle. I use floor jack under the tank to assisit install.

Thanks for all the help everyone, I looked at it some more earlier today, looks like I can just have the rear two supports actually bolted, with the two that would pierce the tank just standing... too much of a hassle to drop my tank, I'd have to remove my bumper to get the gas skid out of the way.

seems like a bad idea to half *** something that will hold up to a couple hundred pounds from clocking you in the dome while wheeling just to save a half hour at most
