I'm in the processes of doing the same thing to my XJ ...Actually it's half done...A friend came over and volunteered to help me ,since I can't do it myself..( well I could if my back wasn't so screwed) My friend came over this last saturday & I was only going to use just a couple of the s10 leafs but after he took off the clamps off my XJ rear leafs, found out that one of my leafs were broken .. so we ended up using both s10 packs both had the thick lower helper and it netted 4.5" to 5 " but I also have the lift shackles so it sits up there ....also have an SYE kit and shaft....so no vibes....use cc784(2") springs by moog they can handle a little more weight than the cc782(1.5") springs....I will put some picks up in my profile so you can see what I'm talking about. don't want to hijack your thread.

I got 3.5-4" in the rear with XJ main then entire s10 pack (i think i removed the thick helper spring after a while). Use YJ break lines and I bought a set of Rusty's 3.5" coils for $100. I dont know what they charge now. Also used JK shocks. I really liked the way it drove too

On mine I used 3/8 Because that's what the s10 springs use....You just have to drill out the center hole on the XJ main to 3/8 and you're all set.....

It kinda sucks cause its spring steel, but a drill press helps. use lots of lube to save the drill bit

If you have a carbide drill bit or a carbide reaming bit and lube , you can go right through it no problem ....and get new spring clamps..... use this link http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j...uy9xEAJ5PNEJkQ
they are about $9.50 from Summit Racing for the pair so you will spend about $19.00 for 4......
