Default Rusty's piece together suspenison parts.

I was thinking about piecing my own kit some what. I'm looking to do 4.5 inch lift. How is rusty's full spring pack and front coil springs quality?

any suspension company has pre-installed bushings hence the bolt-on kits and in my honest opinion and everyone in my wheeling group rusty's is hands down the best...but go ahead and ask someone with a rough country lift they will probably say their the best its all personal opinion...my buddy had a 4.5" rough country it sagged prematurely and rides like crap he is slowly switching everything over to rusty's and couldnt be happier

Alright, None around here have rusty parts and I figured to give them a shot. I don't want it to sag over time tho. How are the rusty shocks? Should i go with zone or rough country 2.2 shocks?

Rusty's shocks are the best every rough country shock i have seen are really small and blow easily...plus Rusty's just released their reservoir shocks no one else has those except bilstein

Alright. I'll give rusty shocks a shot. I heard zone nitro shocks are good as well. Would i need a pitman arm drop? I'm making a list of things I would need to make a complete kit. I already have 2 BB on my Xj.

Fixed or adjustable lower and upper control arms? Which route should I go?

You don't need upper control arms for a 4.5" lift unless you want them. If you plan on going higher adjustable if not fixed; but if you go higher than 4.5" you should prob get long arms.

Hey bro, here's my .02:
I have a set of 6.5" Rusty's full leaf spring pack and a 6.5" coil set from them with their hydro shocks, and I can't tell you enough times how much I love them! Those are the only parts of my suspension lift that are rusty's, but they are a great flex and a great ride. I have Iron Rock's 3 link non adjustable long arms and love those too. Overall I'm sitting at 8" with shackle relocators from RC and spacers to match the 1.5" raise from RC as well.

Rusty's is great about everything. They have got some of the best customer service I've ever had. Prompt and seriously know what they are talking about.

anyways, hope that helps

I just want the springs not to sag but flex well at the same time. So, I really dont need the control arms? How about the drop brackets?

i assume you mean other than

super lift

trailmaster
procomp
fox
MX-6
edelbrock

Rusty's is pretty well known as being a mid range lift kit. BDS, IRO, and many others do have better kits. that being said all of them are more expensive. a good set up can be built from any company. personally in the same price range i would probably do one of the cheaper IRO set ups vs a rusty's i have heard way to many mixed reviews on them everyone either loves them or calls them on some of the cheap outs in the kits.
