Default Rusty's jx buget boost help

I bought the rusty's xj budget boost off a friend for $50 and started to tear into my jeep. i got the first spring off and went to put the first puck in when i realized the puck wont fit. either the diameter is too small or the rod that is in the middle of the spring (no idea what its called) has a lip and i cant get the puck on. any ideas? do i bore put the inside of the puck? is there a way to take that rod out? help

Pull the bump stop off and it will fall on. Don't forget to put the bump stop back on.

The steel bumpstop cup unscrews. Large channel locks work fine.

thanks. if the wether clears up ill give it a shot. also i was watching a video where the guy disconnected the sway bar, control arm and the lower sock bolt. and the whole axle just kinda dropped down to where he was able to pull the spring out without compressing it. he was working on a wrangler. will that work on an xj?

When I did my Rustys BB in my old Xj nearly 10 years ago. All I did was remove the top bolt of the sway bar and the top bolt on the shock. I then took the stock spare tire bottle jack. Put it on the axle pushing on the uni body to get the extra space to put the spacer in. I did the same thing when I added a v-8 Zj spring in along with the spacer. I did break the top bolt of the sway bars the first time. SO spray them first. or pony up for new links.
So no need to mess with the control arms.
