Roof Rack Recommendations?
 

I've been looking for a roof rack that wont break the bank but they're all so expensive. is it better to go with a universal cheaper roof rack? I've seen many that are pretty cheap ($150-$250) instead of $450+. Any good recommendations? It will most likely carry my spare when i get bigger tires.

I've got the Rola basket with the extension. I did a lot of shopping and could not find a better bang for the buck, and I really like the look of it on the XJ. I tracked the prices for quite a while and ended up with the basket for $135 and the extension for $65, hard to beat. If I ever come across a higher-end setup I can't live without I imagine I could recoup a significant amount of what I've invested in the Rola by selling it locally.

i got a cheap, non big name brand rack, and some yakima bars i clamp it to, Craigslist! I got the bars for 50 bucks, and the rack was free. It was a capacity higher than the roof capacity, and is easy to hook straps to.

If you want a cheap good rack, look on craigslist. I have gotten rock rails also, a friend got his winch bumper on craigslist too.
