Roof rack
Want to add a roof rack to my xj. I like the source ones but I'm having sone trouble with ordering/finding it...
I see a lot of people get it from summit racing for 250 but I cannot find that one? Am I looking at the wrong thing or did the process go up?
I want. Roof rack that has the safari look with sidewalks and flooring, 4 lights up front for sure, 2 in the rear would be cool but not a need. Then a tire mount for my spare. I'd like to get hi loft and other options later on but not needed right now.
Any suggestions would be great. I have been researching for quite some time. I don't want to spend a crazy amount for this rack I'd like to pay no more then 300-400. Any suggestions?

I got the warrior products rack with gutter mounts for $400 and its a sturdy beast! It does have optional hardware for tire mounts and lights and whatnot.

I am trying to find one that has the gutter mounts included for under 400. I like the warrior but the light tabs are pretty expensive. Did you make your own or just bought the ones they offer?

this is the same one I had on my old cherokee, I loved it. I used to throw tires and wheels up there (literally) and that thing took a beating. After I rolled the jeep, it was still salvageable and too my knowledge is still on someone's jeep today! Can't go wrong with Kargo Master.

My suggestion: watch your local Craigslist or Ebay. Maybe you'll find one close to you. Over the summer I found an older Surco on Ebay. The guy was about 3 hrs from me and I was heading that way a few weeks later. He ended up giving me a bunch of add-ons for free since I bought the rack.

Or like mickey_00xj said, make it. Get something you're happy with and you can take pride in the build.
Just ideas.

Funny I am looking for the same thing. Now some of you guys are saying to make it yourself and so on. I would love to do that but that requires a welder and well I don't have one, what is a good welder on a budget, what would someone here suggest?

Here's an example:
Not exactly...

or

Yes, welding can look cleaner but if you take your time and pay close attention to detail, "bolt together" can be just as good looking.

Yeah, it holds real good. When I got mine Surco said using the factory rails or their adapter limits you to approx. 150 lbs. The gutter mounts push that up to about 300 lbs. I know I've used it already.
