Rock Sliders?
I have an opportunity to pick up some Smittybuilt Rock Sliders that are brand new for $200. My plans were to do the 2x4 or 2x6 welded in sliders. What's the opinions on which way to go?

Wow that's a good price and a good brand . I wish I could get a set for that price , I think you will regret it if you don't get them , if you don't use them you can always sell them for more .

How is your original sheet metal? My rockers were rusty and needed to be replaced. I cut them out and replaced them with 2"x6" tube sliders and it was a pretty easy job ... in fact easier than it would have been to weld in a replacement set of rockers.

Yeah that's what I'm thinkin cause I do have some rust there. Did you use the hooligan off road brackets or just weld to the pinch seam? Which is a problem I have of welding that thin metal to the thick 2x6 box.

I'm not sure what hooligan off road brackets are but I fabricated some brackets out of the same 2"x6" tubing to tie the sliders back into the uni-body frame.

$45 for 12' of 2x6 3/16" and some DOM side tube. No bolt on can beat it. I have HD offroad stiffeners and supports waiting to go on.
