Ripping ip out and making custom dash

Hey all

How much of a pain would it be to remove and make a custom dash?

Routing wires feels like it would be the hardest part the rest should be just sheet metal work unless im not seeing something.

Also pulling out heatcore and ac unit not gonna keep them stripping all un needed weight int is stripped to just a drivers seat right now no carpets , headliner,or plastic panels.

And there is no headunit anymore just wanna keep ignition, headlight switch, And gauges.

Any advise would help thanks all

If yer stripping all that out, should be easy...just make sure you use adequate material...the dash is a integral part of the chassis.....

Most don't want to go so 'bare' tho.

I know in my old age, I want all the comforts.......have had people ask if I ever roll down the windows when driving...I say heck no, I paid good money for this fancy climate control thingy....so I'm gonna use the heck out of it.

Looking at using 1/8th in dimond plate steel to shape a flat dash unit.

My plastic dash is cracked and not in very good shape im 3rd owner and previous 2 didnt take care of her well so in process of rebuilding.

The heater is no concern really im in cali so cold is not a big issue and its not a daily driver have a work truck for.that gonna be more for taking out and running the moutains on
weekends.

Im looking at probly doing a bed liner inside to add durability and stiffen up the sheet metal also to help with sound and temp.

I would use Aluminum instead of steel. It's easier to cut and drill. Just my opinion FWIW.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you make it strong. I'd start by fiding out where all the grounds are. Know there are two on each side inside the dash underneath the outermost vents on driver side and passenger side that are a PITA to get to. There are also two underneath the carpet under each seat. Then last concern would be dimensioning around the HVAC Box. Good luck and send pics!
