Reverse light switxh?
Have anyone wired their reverse lights on the taillights so that they can be turned on with a switch?
I dot want to install lights on top of jeep yet. U thought about wiring the taillight reverse ones.
What would happen if the light was already on and I shifted into reverse? Would it burn out the bulbs?

Why would you want your reverse lights on while your driving. If your reverse lights don't work when you put it in reverse address the real problem and clean or adjust your nss.

I simply asked if its possible to wire a switch to it and for a hypothetical situation if it was wired from a seperate power source and then if it was turned on and I shifted into reverse, what would happen? Two seperate power sources feeding into one bulb would burn it out?
Now the reason why I needed it because when I'm parked and I work on something on the vise mounted on the vise, the dome light isn't enough to light up the area, I figured two reverse lights might help with the illumination.
I know you guys would say to get another lights, etc, but I simply wanted to know whether if its POSSIBLE to wire a switch into reverse lights.

Never said that the reverse lights didn't work. And never said I wanted it on while I'm driving.

Having two parallel power sources into a bulb will not burn it out and there may well be situations where this makes sense such as camping where you need light behind the Jeep.
But, as cruiser says, I wouldn't think this would help a lot with lighting something in the rear hatch area such as a vise. There have been write-ups about putting lights in the inside of the hatch, LEDs ideally, that will shine down and probably accomplish what you are wanting to do. In rereading I assume this is what you don't want to do right now.
