Default Replacing carpet with insulative paint and bed liner

I've done a bit of reading on replacing the carpet with bedliner and everyone seems to comment on how hot the floor gets after that. Since it involves removing the factory insulation directly above the exhaust . . . I was wondering what your thoughts were on laying down a coat of something like this:

Lizard Skin Cermaic Insulation

And then bed lining over it for durability?

In the end a hard surface will transfer heat but if you just went lizard skin then went for the vinyl floor you would be better off. But in the end my mane complaint for no carpet is the resonate sounds in the cabin of the vehicle. Especially in an SUV body. Also I had read that the lizard skin works better as an underbody/firewall coating then it does inside. But I know that many people know more then me and I will listen and learn from there comments/failures...good luck

Realistically how much issue is the heat going to be? I don't want to worry about melting things and what not.

Even without bedliner when I removed my carpet initially nothing melted. The heat that I felt was from my right leg leaning onto the "hump" for the drivetrain, that would definitely catch my attention. But even the plastic center console never melted, and I drove to Maine from Florida, pretty much 8 hours a day for a week, then went ahead and drove back to Florida.

I am going to use this... http://www.hytechsales.com/insulatin...additives.html

in my primer base coat on my build, and then monstaliner over that. Using Master Series primer for the base coat. It says you can mix it with anything.

I would be interested to hear how that goes . . . see if it's sufficient to keep the heat down.

I had my entire floor in my cherokee Bedlined, and only used Bedliner. No other additives and the only problem I had was that the back of the hump where people in the rear seat sat would really complain about the heat on their feet. Usually girls with flip flops though lol

Are these issues wheeling specific or will it heat up from regular use? Back and forth to work etc.

I remember a article in one of the off road magazines where they took and out down Dynomat then did the Herculiner on top of it. Was in a M-715 Jeep truck. Cant find the link to it now. But is an option to look into to reduce heat and noise.

Just found it.
