Removing c clip with a locker
Got a parts axle for cheap to take the aftermarket diff cover and shafts out come to find out there is a locker too.
I can't get the c clips out on the shafts through the locker
Any tips?
It's a Chrysler 8.25 rear with a lunchbox locker

Remove center pin. Each side of locker consists of 2 ratcheting sleeves. Slide them apart and push wheel/axle shaft inwards. C-clip will come out between the two. There is also a third sleeve inside the other two that needs to be slid inward also.
A dental pick works good for removing the springs and pushing the pins in.
This is for an Aussie and Lokka automatic locker. Lock-rite and others should be similar.
I have one taken apart and can take pictures if you have difficulties.

I believe the small springs need to come out first, to allow the other parts to move around.
Not sure what locker that is.
Here is an Aussie, same concept and overall design.

Its a pain. Here is the description that helped me when I had to remove mine:
Pull the 4 springs to get some more space between the middle gears and the side gears. Orient the carrier so the C- Clip space is away from you pointing towards the pinion. You should be able to see the ends of the c-clip through the two peices of the locker. Move the axle to align the c-clip and use a piece of U shaped wire to kock the clip right out. You can then pull the center prices out and the other c-clip will be exposed.
Good luck. You will need it

It looks like the oval hole is used to compress the spring with dental pick or small flat screwdriver. Then pin will slide out of the half-circle cut out.

I had a Spartan in my 8.25 for a year. It worked great, but I swore I would never get a lunchbox for a c clip axle ever again. Replaced it with a detroit when I regeared.

remove x-shaft, pull out springs and pins. there should be a slot in the between the inner cams to pull the c-clip out. push the axle in about 1/2" and rotate carrier, you should see the slot and c clip

When in doubt, use a bigger hammer. lol
If you plan on reusing the locker, you may need fresh springs for proper function.

I recently blew up my lunch box locker. (Lokka) when pulling. It apart to get to the c clip rotate the locker to were there's small gap on the gear side of the locker then rotate it semi down rattle the axle back and forth and with a small sqrew driver help thar clip out. Not hard at all once you've done it once . Cheers Ps I pulled my locker out and welded up the spider gears . No more problems.

locker broke a pin . I sent a few emails back and forth with them to see why it was racheting at random times when it shouldn't have been.i pulled the cover and inspected but found nothing wrong. I asked about sending me a pin and spring kit.and was told to perform tests and spec it all out ..news flash the ****s broke I'm no idiot .so I said f it and went wheeling till she blew. I'll never buy another one .front so far has been staying together fine .the rear well is now welded till I can find a arb that's a good deal.
