I have a 98 Cherokee sport that I have had for about 6 months. The previous owner said it had RKE but the owner before him lost the remote. How can I be sure it really does have RKE?

Hi , remove the overhead panel , just a couple of philips screws by the sunblinds and a clip at the rear , should be two looms one at front for compass ,int lights ect one in centre going to the rke receiver its a pcb board . You will need access to a DRB3 scanner to code up another transmitter, regards Rob

i had the same problem so i called the local dodge dealership and gave them my vin # i they can tell u alomost everything u want to kn bout your jeep....yours being a 97-01 and its a sport then it more then likely did come with it...if u need a new remote get on www.ikeyless.com they r $36.95 + shipping

Thanks, I don't have an overhead console but I know that some that came without an overhead console did have RKE. I'll stop by the Chrysler dealership after work.
