Reinforced front fenders
First off, do they exist? I mean, the obvious answer to my problem would be: A) Don't slide into things; or B) Exoskeleton Cage.
Since I'm not a fan of the look of the cage, (especially since this is a DD), and there are times when you simply slide in the mud sideways and just happen to catch a tree, neither of these options can work for me. I suppose I could purchase a set of fenders and put my welding skills to work. I would have to be very very careful with the paper thin sheet metal in order for that to work. Now, I wouldn't mind maybe some tube type cage over the fender that somehow attaches to the frame. Like a Slider, but for the side of the vehicle. I don't know. Maybe this hasn't been done. but I barely glanced that tree, and my fender is pressed against the inner fender well. Any ideas? http://i1199.photobucket.com/albums/...J/IMAG1463.jpg And yes, I know that I probably wouldn't have had any damage if I didn't have that flare on it. |

Or do they make something like this for the front?
Attachment 346798 I do plan on getting them for the rear, as well as the lowers Attachment 346799 and their bumper: Attachment 346800 I could contact them to see if they make one for the front fender as well. Or if they could make a full front fender out of 3/16 steel. I need to reinforce the front end like this PS: I am in no way affiliated with JcrOffroad, Inc. |

Maybe you can take 2 fenders and trim one up and weld it to the inside like they do on demo cars?

That might work, however I was thinking more of a bracing system that could tie into another part of the vehicle to keep it out. I just don't think that even two of the fenders overlapping would have enough tensile strength to take a glancing impact. If the fender had not caved in when I slid into the tree, I would have been able to back up, but when it collapsed, I was stuck and had to pull forward, which may have caused more damage. |
Also are you trying to keep it from getting a few dents altogether
|
I would definitely like to minimize the dentage potential as much as possible, that's why I am going all in on the rear 1/4s.

Hooligan offroad in the vendor section has what you want.
