Rear Quarter Panel Sliders

Just wanted to share my rear quarter panel sliders I built. The flat bar is 3"x3/16" while the tubing is 1 1/4x.120. I rotated the tubing 90 degrees for less friction when sliding across rocks and trees. Flat bar is ran seam to seam on the body for the most strength to catch the C and D pillar. Attached wiht 1/4" stainless pan head screws with washers and lock nuts on the back side.

If you plan to build these, one thing to not is your body is not straight, it has a slight curve to it. So you want to bolt the plate to the body before you tack on the slider bars. Also note that your body is not 90 degrees to the ground, so if you want the sliders parallel to the ground they cant be cut at a 90. I ended up just eyeballing them and grinding them till they looked parallel and tacked them on. Last tip is to set the plate against the body and scribe a line on the back side with the door and tailgate open to get the correct body line for the front and back of the plate.

I dig that look, I'm curious how they hold up over time.

You live in one of the coolest places in the PNW btw ;-)
