Rear lower quarter Cut ?
Why? Do people cut them cause of rust? Is there anything to be gained from doing this?
I've been considering it cause I sort of like the look, but I'm not sold on it. Might do the armor caps like this

And yes it will be with the same bumper in that photo
Any answer to these question will help me deside
Thanks

Departure angle. There are plenty of situations where extra space back there will help you.. Especially if you have a smaller lift. Basically helps keep your rear end dragging in the dirt/rocks when climbing something that becomes abruptly steep.

Wouldn't you still hang up on the bumper tho? I can see it saving from dent and what not, either way thank you. Still milling it over

Yes and no. Most of the cut-and fold bumpers are smaller themselves.... Take a look at JCRs for example. They are usually made to maximize your angle via angles and such. Plus a bumper can take the hit. Your panels can't. Keep in mind some states have bumper height laws and that might not be a good idea.
I personally have not ever had need for one. At 6.5" I haven't drug my bumper on anything that a cut and fold would help. That being said, I probably will next week in Moab. There are a ton of places there where you are hitting pretty steep areas. (Look up hells revenge escalator for example). In most places I have wheeled, approach/breakover angle have been much more important. I'm sure if I was at 3" lift, it would be much more important.

Main reason I did mine(besides having a quater size rust hole in one panel)was because where I live I'm constantly dealing with mud and this mod plus doing the front makes it so much easier to keep the undercarriage clean. But this past hunting season I was forced to turn around on a below grade trail. Turning around I could see in the mirror where if my left quater panel would still have been there it would have hit the bank at the road edge. As it was the cut&fold went over the bank. So I got an added benefit.
I've replaced the rear bumper with a pipe bumper.

Hum, well I am at 3" and setting this up with the low cog. Got my gas tank skid, and soon I'll have a undercaridge skid, and BLAW BLAW BLAW
Honestly now I'm kind of leaning towards the armor end caps. Figure that anything should slide right off. Plus been concidering the tube flares as they have armor as well, but 1200 buck for fender flares is hard for me to stomac
Still like the raw-ness of the lower quarter being cut out

For 1200$? You can get the hooligan off road/Rusty's/Ares Fab metal flares for a lot less than that!
