rear locker dd
hello i was looking to get an Aussie rear locker for my dd and i live in Alaska so most of the time will be in snow and ice.
d30 3.55-d35 3.55
howpleasant is it to drive with a rear locker?
does it wear down tires faster?
do i have to be worryed about breaking axles?
i offroad on the weekends and i dont really offroad on rocks at all
just want some more traction for the snow and so mud
thanks

Great off road and yes it'll wear down the outer part of the tire, on mine at least. As far as snow.... In light stuff I hate it. I get the occasional rear end kick when there's a patch of ice under the snow. Not so pleasant at 40mph. We had a "blizzard" down here in Illinois a couple of years ago and it did great in the deep snow

Not bad at all. No skipping around turns. It's designed to release the halves when making turns. You'll hear a clicking sound that's it.

I dd a lock-right. It kinda sucks in snowy/icy weather cause the rear end will kick out, just something you have to be mindful of. 4x4 makes it better cause the front is also pulling. I have older KM1's and I dont notice it wearing the tires any but KM1's are pretty hard compound and i rotate alot. Mine is a 5sp so it does buck sometimes in parking lots and tight turns, something you have to figure out how it handles. Never broke an axle in my c8.25
