Talking Are Rear Frame Stiffeners needed?

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the Iron Rock Front and Middle frame stiffeners. I've noticed that they offer a rear section as well.

Is the rear section needed?

If the IRO's are not the best solution, I'm open to suggestions. I think thicker is better.

I've had a rig with rear stiffeners and also one without, I ultimately wanna say no I don't really think they do much back there. having the front and center are mandatory, rear seem to be optional

thicker does not mean better IMO. I've ran both the ruffstuff and the HDO center, if you are rock bouncing you may eventually dent 10ga middle. But the ruffstuff did not fit that well for me and they are HEAVY. for just $30 more than Iron Rock you can get the full set from HDO. They fit pretty nice in my experience and they use a ton of rosette holes to truly make your stiffeners and uniframe one piece, which is stronger than just welding around the outside

The way the rears have to go around the fuel lines on the driver's side, there's no way I can believe they do any good past that point in the rear. I only have them because they came as a set (HDO). What makes me really sad/mad is that the shop that did my install just cut out a section of the fronts in order to skip removing the track bar brace. I'm still salty about that--a stiffener doesn't really do much good if you cut sections out of it. And that was a reputable shop...

I have the RS mids, and DirtBounds front and rears. If you plan on doing cagework, rears are mandatory. You need to have a solid base to tie your cage into. If you're not planning on a cage, just do the mids and front.

Did you have to drill holes for the track bar mount and upper control arm bolts in your DB fronts?

I think I'll do the IRO Front and Mids, then if I decide to do an Exo or Cage, I'll put rears on at that time.

Thanks for the feedback.

Anytime. Even if you just do mids it will help. But you can totally add the rears at a later time if you need to.

I will say this about the RS mids, though...yes they are heavy, but I like the fact that they fold up to the floor pan...not a huge amount, but enough to make a difference...spreads the load over more areas. I also found the rosette holes were adequate...enough for good, solid reinforcement, without overkill. I'm happy with how they turned out.
