Rear Fender Trimming for Notch Flares

Looking to see if anyone has any advice on trimming the rear wheel well to fit notch flares or just trimming in general, specifically at the rocker panel and bottom of the rear quarter panel. Pictures below of specifically what I'm talking about. I've read through all of the trimming guides, but none seem to go that close to the door or they are more extreme than what Notch Customs calls for.

The instructions were clear up until the point where they mention "cut out a triangular notch at the front and rear of the wheel wells" with no picture. I e-mailed notch but no response yet and took this project on knowing support might be minimal. I can just hack away at it and add metal as necessary, but it would be much better to have some idea of where to cut.

I have body shop experience and bought these flares for a 50% discount, so hopefully no one will flame me for cutting up a nice jeep. I promise it'll look good in the end.

Thank you in advance for any help.

If you are talking Notch Flares as in the brand then maybe some of these pictures will help.

Give this thread a read while you are there. IMO this guy is incredible.

Thank you, yeah I'm installing the Notch Custom's X-max flares like he has. That was a nice build. Looks like he replaced the inner fender with sheet metal instead of following Notch's instructions. I might have to resort to something similar.
