Default Rear end

I have an 8.8 swap on my 01 cherokee. Took it out this weekend and snapped the bolts on my driveshaft. I'm wanting to know what slip yoke driveshaft I should get and what are some u joint options. Thinking the old one may have come out of a rubicon but not sure. I've searched through the threads for about an hr and haven't had much direction. Any help?

Well if you want to go big go for the 1350 yoke change out for the 8.8 and get a drive shaft made for it. I plan to spend about $400 atleast on my rear drive shaft setup for when I get my 8.8 done. The 1350 yoke and 1350 drive shaft and ya it will be very hard to break it, more likely to break the t-case output shaft than the drive shaft and it will take forever to wear it out.

you sheared bolts? at the tcase or at the axle side? that's not entirely easy to do. replace with grade 8's and try again. pop a spicer ujoint in there and see how it goes. you should be fine with a junk yard driveshaft with some new ujoints. if you twist one of those up go to your local driveline shop and have them build you one

Sheared them at the T-Case???? Wow you must have either slammed that driveshaft or you were revving it up to like 4k on the tac and dumping the clutch like crazy. Or someone who put the 8.8 in cross threaded the bolts when putting them in. Ya get some replacement bolts and new u-joints and give it another shot. If you blow it again then you best start looking at that 1350 u-joint conversion.

that aint right. before blowing your dough on a custom driveshaft I would definitely try some grade 8's and some lock tite. they must have wiggled themselves loose and finally let go under torque.

Just wheeling up some hill climbs it may have backed out. What can I pull a slip yoke drive shaft out of? The only stock ones I have found are solid

If you have an auto trans you should be able to use a front driveshaft from an XJ or a ZJ. Hopefully someone will chime in with a list of lengths. What's wrong with you current shaft? Was the cv joint damaged?

Okay thanks. I'll dig around the junk yards and Craigslist to see what I can find.
