rear disk brake conversion
i picked up the rear rotors and calipers off my buddy's 96 grand cherokee. He tells me that the caliper brakets should be able to just bolt up to my stock rear Dana 35. Has anyone done anything like this before? My brakes suck right now so i'm excited about making this work.

Worked on my 8.25. made a big difference in my braking! You just have to open up the hole that the axle tube sits in. When I was doing my research I think I read it would work on a 35 also but im not 100% sure.

If you search you'll also notice nobody suggests spending any money at all on a D35. save the cash and buy yourself a 8.25 for 80$ at the junkyard to do the swap on. You'll love it running on 35s without swaping an axle yet.

Too bad that's not mentioned in the write-ups, huh?
I was fortunate to have the 8.25 on the bench and the GC donor on the picnic table when doing the disc brake swap, while my wife was driving her 88 XJ with a noisy 35 in it..

yes i am eventually going for the 8.25 swap but i already have the calipers and rotors and i dont know where you're getting your JY parts but nobody is selling an 8.25 for anywhere near $80 around here. I also have spare axle shafts for the 35 so until it breaks to where i cant fix it for free with spares, i'll stick with it.
