Rear bumper/tire carrier ideas
Ive been looking around and all the website sold bumpers are too expensive. Iv decided to build my own, but can't decide on the design.
I was thinking something like this. Any other ideas?https://www.cherokeeforum.com/attach...1&d=1335740865

My tire rack
Just one of these 1/4" tabs lifts the whole rear end of the jeep.
Boxed this one cause one tab bends with the leverage also made it so it had two places that bolt in from the swing or else it rocks back and forth with a single bolt through it all.
All attatched to a tube inside the bumper.

i like yours alot. few questions: did you brace the bumper where you attached it? and in the third pic down, is that one long bolt that goes through the whole setup?

Yes it's one long bolt 8" long I believe and yes it's actually a 1.5x3" tube mounted to 2 1/4" plates and bolts in the stock 8 places. Then the stock bumper cut to fit over the top of it and bolted on soon to be welded on. And I'm also adding frame tie in brackets. But I've lifted the jeep from the stock bumper while bolted on the tube inside.

best way in my opinion to mount it.
heim joints mounted to both bumper and 1/4 panel guards.
held a 37" tire through the harshest of terrain at all sorts of speeds and does not move one bit. Every traditional spindle setup ive seen flexes, moves, and makes noise.
