Default Rear Bumper/License Plate Lighting

For those that are running an aftermarket rear bumper/tire carrier, what are you using for a license plate light? I like the look of the GenRight.

Any opinions on the best way to wire it?

I have this one from autozone because it was the only one I could find and I needed it asap. It's kind of a pos and the chrome part is grounded to the wiring some how so I had to make sure it didn't touch metal by putting electrical tape on it.

It works though. I put a hole in the hatch for the wire and wired it to the factory license plate light. I mounted the license plate on a plastic mount thing that I also bolted to the hatch.

That's the exact same one I am using also..........It was cheap, but it works ok.............One of the LED lights inside mine blinks sometimes........I'm looking at other options for some time when I decide to change to a different light...........I'll probably leave it on until it fails

Are you gonna mount the plate inside the spare or just stick on the back somewhere?

Our rock lights would be a great option for your plate lights!

Any trailor/tractor supply house will have a license plate bracket on hand, $10-15 tops.

Add a light from Advance Auto
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...se+plate+lamps

Done for under $20.

My setup is from Ares Fab and looks a lot like this. The license plate is inside the spare so it's a little trickier since it swings open. If it were just relocated on the tailgate it'd be a little easier.

I ran this one on my last xj. I did add a sealer around it though. That was one thing people mentioned on the reviews. Also ran the wires from my existing light in the hatch.
