Default Rear Bump Stops

Hey fellow members...
I have a 3in lift and need new rear bumpstops. If I remember right the stocks are 3in or 3.5in. Do I want to go with longer say 4.5 polys?

I think a lot of people weld a little piece of metal off of the u bolt plate on the leafs instead of longer bump stops. Just an idea.

I just extended mine using some 2x2 and longer bolts, seem to be working pretty good so far.

You need to compress the suspension, measure how much bumpstop you need and then find one the right size. And BTW, lift height is irrelevant to bumpstop length. Tire size is what determines bumpstop.

These are what i use. http://www.diybeadlocks.com/ProductD...ing+U+Bolt+Pla

Thank you for the info. I've never really wheel it hard enough to bottom it out and only bumpstopped the fronts so far and haven't looked at the rear until this last weekend and realized they were rusted out. They pretty much fell off...
and with only the 3in lift and 31in tires the stock length seems fine. I'll flex it and get out the tape measure.
~Thanks again gentlemen

I know this post was a little while ago, but if anyone has the dpg or diybeadlock bumpstop plates, i would appreciate it if I could have the dimensions. My brother in law has a machine shop and he can fab up these plates for free . I just need to know the approximate dimensions and exactly how far apart the holes are (center to center). My xj is in the shop so i cant measure the stock plate right now. Thanks in advance.
