RC 6.5" lift without SYE?

So the guy at my local Jeep shop told me I would not need an SYE because the lift comes with a transfer case drop...

On this forum however I have heard the exact oppisite...

like you will most likely experience driveline vibes really badly, which could cause some major damage

It'll go a mile then your drivetrain will explode. Lol

Anything over 35mph your gonna be rattling your teeth out. Id also be a bit scared of the driveshaft just coming out. At that height your driveshaft is gonna be pulled out a lot.

Do I need to by just an SYE or an SYE and a new driveshaft?

Jeepjunky 02-23-2012 08:47 PM

sye and drive shaft

sam24th 02-23-2012 08:47 PM

You cannot use your factory driveshaft with a SYE. so you will need a new driveshaft. Or you can use a front driveshaft. That is what I did.

i thought that front driveshaft only worked up to bout 5-5.5" lift?

I run a front shaft with my HNT what trans, T case, and rear axle do you have?

Sean1125 02-23-2012 08:59 PM

Shouldn't all this information be on these lift companies websites?

I'm new in the jeep world so I don't know a whole lot about their suspension systems, also surprised that this information wasn't given to me by the Jeep shops owner, he's only been working on these things for like a 1000 years...
