Rattle can painting tomorrow, suggestions

I have been sanding , and ready to paint tomorrow. I want to do something a little different. She is black already, so I was thinking combing Flat and gloss. IE: Hood Gloss, with lower side and center in flat, flat rockers and flat roof, everything else in gloss. Anyone else ever seen something like this or have any suggestions? thanks

I rattled mine... i did 2 coats with semi- used about 9 cans for the whole vehicle - invest in a trigger sprayer for like $3 - it will save your finger lol

prep work - its all about prep work
once you get it sanded, clean it real well, paint it, then wet sand with some fine grit and clean it real good again, then paint it again

its not hard just time consuming

if you have all day - its warm and not windy you can do it in a day
just let it flash dry in between painting if not space it over 2 or more days for best results

personally I wouldnt do the flat - i did this orginally on the hood and found out it "stains" too easily and starts to fade really quick

It looked good but i had to do it again about a month later cause of the pollen and bird poop and any type of sugar (soda spill) that hits it stays even if you wash it real good / right away

i switched to semi-gloss - most people cant tell its not a real paint job cause of the gloss and its still not enough shine to bounce lights back when driving
best thing about it - i havent had to redo it yet - well i have had to because i trail damaged it - but thats the reason i went with rattle can instead of pro job with clear coat - cause now i can pick up a can and shoot a lil spray of the scratches and no one is the wiser

Gloss black has got to be the most forgiving paint ever and it
Looks nice. Why are you redoing black if you want somthing different? Just wondering.

Oh and get a trigger for the cans and your hand will thank you.

I am more of an ultra flat fan.

Not big on mixing flat with gloss unless its hood only. Is there a reason you want to mix the two?

I am redoing b/c the clear coat is shot and looks all inconsistent and spotty. Just wanted to try something different missing the 2, if looks crappy I 'll just pick one.
