Ramsey patriot 9500 winch just clicking but not working
Once again I am here for your expertise gentlemen and thank you in advance for any help!
I have a Ramsey patriot 9500 winch , ran it twice last year and went to use it recently and all I get is clicking , she free wheels nice and easy , I thought perhaps it was a solenoid but talking to a friend who dables in electrical and he said that the clicking sound was the solenoid trying to Send power to the motor but she doesn't run, any thoughts before I send her in?
Thanks again
Steve

Check and clean all electical connection on the winch and battery. I had the same problem on my "tow" truck and just had to go through and clean and tighten a couple of the connections.
Once you're sure you have good power to the winch then you need to have the winch looked at. Others may have better "inside" information.
Good luck!

My winch did the same thing. The solenoid for winching in had been bad so i swapped it with the other so I could free spool it out and winch in. It started clicking so I ordered a new set. That didn't fix it. All my terminals appeared clean, but after cleaning the battery post and power terminal to the winch it came back to life. I've had to do this periodically, my winch doesn't like any corrosion apparently. I just check it for operation anytime I'm headed out.
