raising the tc ?

anyone ever raise the tc ? say a 1/2" or so w/ a spacer between the tc & mount plate. reason being a friend bought a used skid built for the 231, he has a 242 tc which hangs a bit lower. jeep has a sye so not concerned w/ vibes, other option is to cut a rectangle hole to clear the 242 then weld in a little bubble. lose some clearance that way . opinions ? thx

IRO makes a clocking jig to clock the TC up higher. Or, I believe there is an adapter ring of sorts.

i once clocked up a d 300 on a cj7, but w/ a body lift had lots of room, checked out the xj jig but it would go too far up for what i need. w/ the 242 theres not much room up there to clock it, guess i'll add the little bubble.
