they let you flex more which means you can keep all 4 tires on the ground which allows you to get more traction. if you do any kind of off roading that is more intense then a gravel road you should disconnect your sway bar, otherwise it just puts alot of unwanted stress on your jeep. im 2 cheap to buy quick disconnects so i just made my own.

If you have access to a welder, do them yourself. You'll save a lot of money. If not, look into either RC or JKS for a set. If you go through RC, talk to Grimmus on here.

I would make some of these if I needed some. They would be super strong and seem like they would work great. Probably cost only about $25 or so. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/d...legit-1114424/

That is not safe... maybe the rear, but I highly reccomend against 'ditching' your front.
They are there for a reason....

Spend the cash and do it right.

Don't ditch the front unless you have to. My end link snapped and now my sway bar is zip tied up until I get some discos. It's unsafe, drives poorly, and feels like I'm playing GTA IV.

They are saying that it is unsafe to remove your entire sway bar. If you use sway bar disconnects they will be just as safe as having the normal sway bar when they are attached. Your right though about making them- you would have to fab them the right way, otherwise they could put you into a rollover if they broke while taking a corner. But there are legitimate ways to make them such as the way I posted earlier which uses 10,000 lb heim joints which can actually support 4 times that amount before breaking and grade 8 rods. Anyways though to each his own.

Thanks for clearing that up gvns8. Those ones on JF are really nicely made and would hold up very well.
