Questions for guys who have built there own bumpers.
I'm looking at either laying out and building a custom front and rear bumper or getting a jcr diy bumper. Either way I'll have to weld it which is not a problem. My question is what do meterials cost yall to build your home Made ? Is it worth it cost wise ?

Depends how big of a bumper, full length or stubby? Are you planning on buying the material in bulk and cutting yourself or having it cut for you?
If you buy in bulk and do all of the cutting yourself then it's a no brainer to go that route, otherwise go with the JCR. Two of my buddies have bought and built those and they were great quality.

depends on design. mine are simple as can be and both front and rear were made with scrap metal and $36 of 2x4. very worth it for me
I like the DIY kits from companies. it's worth it to buy those if you want a nice bumper. a lot of the home brewed bumpers are really really ugly...

That's what I'm afraid of I can weld and cut and all that I have the image in my head I kust don't know if I can bring it to life and not have it be ugly a hell. I want a full width up front that will wrap around and line up with were I'm going to trim the fenders light pof mounts and d ring mounts and a front reciver. Out back I want it to wrap around and tuck up with a cut and fold and rear fender trimming with a tire carrier and a place for light pods. D rings and a receiver. I guess I just need to pull my stock stuff off and template it. I have card bored and duct tape.

it's easy to make a bumper. just gotta carefully think it all out. measure twice, and have a decent design. it's very easy to do. but for whatever reason a lot of the home brew ones just turn out janky lol. take a crack at it man. worst that happens is you learn something

There is a free program called DraftSight, pretty much the same as AutoCad. Also, if you are a student, can get any of the Autodesk software for free if you register on their site.

do you have any issues with the swaybar hitting the winch? I want to build a very similar design but I'm worried about the clearance there
