question rough country 4.5 inch lift

Hey everyone i have a 01 cherokee sport and im about to buy the rough country 4.5 inch lift with the add a leaf and while i have the springs off id like to put some coill spacers in most likely the .75 inch. If i did the 1.75 inch with just a transfer drop would that make much of a difference.. more of a chance for drivline vibration? And with the add a leaf i also want to put the 1.5" short pair to give it a little more height since i do not have money for a new leaf pack and id eventually like to get the shackle relocation kit. has anyone done this? any problems i may run into? any input is appreciated thx

Be patient. Save the money to get the full leaf packs. They will last you much longer. The relocation brackets give you a better angle but I've also heard they give you more lift. I've never put em in so I can't tell you for sure. But if you put in 4.5" and add another 1.75" to be sitting at 6.25 then yes you'll run into driveline vibes. The later model XJ's had a slightly different t case that are more susceptible to vibes. At that height a t case drop probably won't cut it. What kind of t case do you have?

I would start, but not wasting your money on the crappy ride that you will get from RC. You should be able to piece together a lift for a decent price. For example, RE 4.5 coils run about 85$/shipped, and 5.5s 100$/shipped thats for a PAIR, from serious offroad. Do not waste your time with an AAL. Either buy a full lift leaf pack or make a bastard pack.

My rc lift rides great. Have you ever had one?

You just opened a can of worms saying that. RC rides OK, I have one too (not totally RC parts, just coils and leafs, and it rides pretty crappy...You should hop in an xj with an OME lift then come tell us what you think about RC. I used to say the same thing your saying about RC till I rode in a rig with an OME lift.

Haha yeah I thought about that. And yes you are correct. All of my components are RC. I got the 6.5" LA kit and I acknowledge that long arms do wonders for ride quality. I had a 4" lift on my other xj with short arms and it rode like I concrete block on wheels. OME from what I've read has superior ride quality but only offers up to a 3" lift I believe? I could be wrong on that. But after measuring I'm sitting at 8" cause of the spacers I've added and you can't get that height from OME. It all comes down to personal preference and opinion. To each their own. I like my RC lift, but I never expected my XJ to ride like a caddy lol.

i have a np231 transfer case and i have the high pinion d30 axle. im still goin to do the 4.5 rc lift with .75 coil spacer in the front and most likely make a bastard pack...willl i be fine doing this?

Well the 231 is easier to work with. You'll probably need a SYE.
