Question about miles per tank?
I have a 97 cherokee sport. I recently put a 3" lift and 31's on it. I filled up before the lift was installed and had about 100 miles on it. Since then i have put another 175ish. I drive probably 85% city driving 30-50mph.
I don't expect it to get great mileage or i wouldn't have gotten a jeep. Just curious if thats somewhat normal.
The Jeep has the following new: TPS,CPS,MAP, PLUGS AND WIRES, transmission fluid and filter changed, new muffler and tail pipe, throttle body has been cleaned.
Thanks

Are you compensating for the larger tire size...?
Say you went from a 30" tire to 33". Thats a 10% increase. You traveled 200 miles on your new 33s. You ACTUALLY traveled 220 miles. woah... mind blowing

Sorry just noticed my typo. I have around 190 total now and about 1/8 of a tank. So from stock tires to 31's probably closer to 210or so. A majority is city with some playing in the snow. Was just curious what others with my lift and tire size get.

I have a 2001 with a 3in lift and 31's. I usually average 100-120miles around a half tank. When I fill up and do the math I'm usually around 13.5mpg's

3.5" lift, 31" tires. ~300 miles per tank. ~17.5 mpg on average hand calculated over 10 tanks or so.
I would say 50% highway, 30% city, 20% stop and go on the highway.
My odometer / speedometer HAS been corrected to the tire size.

Well this tank was about half without lift and half with. The first half was going pretty well. But once I got the lift we also got snow so I did a little playing around in that too. But I would say 75% of mine or more is city driving. I drive a total of 6 miles to and from work a day.
Mine has not been fixed for the different tire size. I am at around 200 miles right now and 1/8 tank of gas.
I am considering this summer replacing the injectors with the neon ones to help with mileage. I will be moving this summer and my round trip for work will be closer to 100 miles a day.

If you are going to be driving 100 miles a day for work, you may want to get the entire Neon (or better yet, a Corolla) to drive, not just the injectors!

haha that's in my plans for the future! Just may take a little before I can save up the money for one. That would take way too much gas, I could probably pay for a car in a years worth of driving.

4" lift, 31s, 3.55 gearing, Volvo injectors and stock air box. I'm getting 16 town/21 hw with an '88 Renix. I typically have more than 2-4 gallons left after my 300+mile drive from home to school.

I've read hundreds of posts about mpg lately and I think we all know how to get decent gas mileage by now! Haha. Either keep it stock or fork over the extra $30-$40 a week in gas and be happy with your set up. That, or just buy the right gear for the set up. You can justify cost any way you want, but at the end of the day I know you all knew what you were getting into you filthy animals! Tune up parts and maintenance will only go so far. "Rant over!" Lol
