Putting Lift on 98 XJ
My son has a 98 XJ that has a factory lift of 1.5" lift he wants to put an additional 2" lift on it but he is afraid that it is going to change the driveshaft angle if he does that. Is this correct or not.

Define the factory 1.5" lift and also define whats involved with the 2" lift your wanting to install. As a per-say net total of 3.5" of lift that would be on the jeep you shouldn't have big issues with driveshaft angle(s). Depending on whats being changed in that amount of lift potentially an added degree shim for the rear axle might be about the only thing out of the norm and thats if your getting rear driveshaft vibes from it not being within proper operation angle. If its getting lifted more in the 4-4.5"+ range well then an SYE wouldn't be a bad idea, if not also a drop t-case kit (which is literally a spacer kit to lower your transmission crossmember ~1" to reduce your driveshaft angle(s) )

What does a factory lift mean?

There was an option called "Up Country Suspension Group". It included Heavy Duty Suspension with gas shocks.
It was supposed to yield ~2" lift. Also included Trac-Lok diff Skid plates Tow Hooks etc. |
